How to determine if your sulcata tortoise is healthy.First give it a good physical inspection 
Start at the head Their eyes should be clear and open 

Check their upper & Lower jaws, their jaws should line up perfectly  
Be cautious of animals with misaligned jaws

Check for good shell condition.
shells should feel stiff to the touch, YOU MAY FEEL a little flexing of the shell in very young animals 
overly soft shell is a sign of Metabolic Bone Disease.Please see my other videos showing how to determine if your Sulcata has this condition.
Check the tail area for abnormal signs of urination or defecation.
you might sell a wet tail or a green or brown slime, this is a sign of a GI Infection.
Sools should be nice and firm,  Not hard or wet.

This tortoise is Puffy, this is edema or fluid build up under the skinThis might be the sign of a GI Infection or a sign of Parasites this tortoise should be treated with medication. 
#1 reason Sulcata Tortoise get sick and die is,  lack of proper Heat and Proper light.
The light must be bright and you must supplement with UVB lighting Babies sulcatas thrive when their shell temperature are between 88 and 98 degrees
When temperatures are right, Baby Sulcatas are very active, running around with bright eyes When you feed them they should jump right on the food.
