The festival concluded on a high note with a grand finale at Camp Kigali on January 27, 2024.
The aim of IACF is to create spaces for encounters between people with different skills and experiences, from different countries and backgrounds, through performing arts and culture.
The Iteka African Cultural Festival is a project inspired by the World Day for African and Afro-descendant Culture, celebrated every year on 24 January.
This day was proclaimed by UNESCO on the occasion of its 40th session, during its General Conference in 2019. It celebrates the many living cultures of the African continent and the African diaspora worldwide and promotes them as effective levers for sustainable development, dialogue and peace.
As a rich source of the world's common heritage, the promotion of African and Afro-descendant culture is essential for the development of the continent and for humanity in general.
UNESCO encourages everyone to participate through various activities such as debates, conferences, workshops, cultural events, presentations and exhibitions.
