Many countries in the Global South are the point of origin for many critical minerals essential for the clean energy transition and the Fourth Industrial Revolution. However, the value added and captured by these countries remains very low. How do we solve issue? Could a Reverse Value Added Tax within a special economic zone framework be a solution to move the Global South up the critical minerals value chain?
