Starting with a windshear layer at 2.5km, expanding to about 3km the evolving environment is simulated for 30 minutes. The first plot shows the vorticity [1/s] generated by the shear, while the second one pictures the vertical velocity [m/s].
You can see how waves form after a while, known as Kelvin-Helmholz-Waves, which often contribute to CAT phenomenons.
