Описание: Living and waking up with questions like "why do I exist? what can I do or change for better life for humanity?" every day. Can these questions enough to become a warrior of light? While whole the world in deep afraid against leprosy she and few of her collegues in Turkey were helping people to cure it. She was a legend with her efforts against not only for leprosy but for better future for women in Turkey. Now you have a chance to listen her from a doctor (Prof.Dr.Adile Oniz) from a son+doctor (Dr. Cinar Orge) and from her own voice with presentation compiled in association with Prof. Dr. Ayse Yuksel and Gonul Kaya. Special thanks for Vehbi Koc Vakfi and ÇYDD for the memory of Turkan Saylan. Medical Doctor / Prof. Dr. Türkan Saylan was born in Istanbul in 1935. Prof. Dr. Saylan concentrated her work on Leprosy from 1976 onwards and founded the Society for the Struggle Against Leprosy (SSAL) in the same year. She also initiated the establishment of the Foundation for the Struggle Against Leprosy (FSAL) in 1976. She was the president of both the SSAL and the FSAL. She is a founding member of the International Leprosy Union (ILU) and at present she is the vice-president of ILU. For about 30 years till 2006, she was a consultant to the World Health Organization (WHO) on Leprosy. In 1986 she received the International Gandhi Prize, presented to her in India. During 2003-2004, she was a member of the Human Rights Consultancy Committe. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
