🎻 Trinity Grade 7 Violin | Hooked Bowing Exercise in B Major (Slow Practice Tempo) 🎶
In this video, you’ll find a deliberately slow version of the hooked bowing exercise for the Trinity Grade 7 violin exam, played in B major (3 octaves).
🌟 Key Information:
This bowing exercise is compulsory for in-person exams or the technical pathway in digital exams.
You can play it in any key from the Grade 7 Trinity scales. Here, I’ve chosen B major to demonstrate.
Many students find this bowing technique tricky at first. The best way to improve? Extremely slow practice!

🎻 Practice Tips:
Make sure you’re confident with the correct fingerings for the B major scale.
Start by practising the hooked bowing on a single note before applying it to the scale.
Take your time—slow and steady wins the race!
Good luck with your exam preparation, and remember, consistent practice is the key to success!
