During the J&K Ops by the Pakistan through its proxy raiders in 1947 and 1948 the attempt was made to annex Jammu and Kashmir. While the Primary threat was towards the Kashmir Valley was thwarted by capture of Uri by Indian forces the secondary threat towards the Mirpur, Poonch and Jammu remained for sometime. The valiant soldiers of 50 Para Brigade, 19 Infantry Brigade and the troops garrisoned at Poonch valiantly to hold on to their garrisons and routed the enemy through various attacks in the Jammu Region. The paucity of troops demanded that at no time the balance is lost. See the video to know how the Indian commanders did well to thwart the Pakistani designs.
