Fixing misfire issues in a WE18C Airsoft pistol

I had 2 issues with a new WE G18C airsoft pistol. At first it would sometimes fail to fire, then go off randomly without a finger on the trigger. Secondly it would always fire in full auto, even when set to semi. This video shows what caused the problems and how I fixed them, and in the process describes how the hammer mechanism works.
Note that there are no real guns in this video; every version shown is a toy gun only for use in airsoft.
(21/8/21 - It turns out that the shim fix for the full auto in semi didn't work with heavy trigger pulls, which would still always result in full-auto fire. See • WE 18C full auto in semi (revisited) for what the actual problem turned out to be and how I fixed it)
