MetroTV, UN peacekeepers have handed over a cleared minefield to the Lebanese Army after completing demining operations near the Blue Line in southern Lebanon. UNIFIL specialists manually removed and destroyed hundreds of landmines and unexploded ordnance in the town of Bledaa following months of careful work. Officials said the operation was carried out in close coordination with the Lebanese Armed Forces to ensure the area is safe for civilians. The mission described the handover as the first since hostilities erupted last year. Demining efforts began in August and concluded earlier this month marking a key step toward restoring safety and stability along the border.
