This is a funky, soul-infused rock track written by the band, Peter Haycock, Colin Cooper, Derek Holt, John Cuffley, and Richard Jones. It became their biggest hit that was recorded at AIR Studios in London with producer Mike Vernon. Haycock’s slick guitar riff, Cooper’s gritty vocals and sax, and a tight rhythm section nods to their blues roots while leaning into a radio-friendly sound. The lyrics, about searching for something elusive, struck a chord amid the mid-’70s vibe, helping it land on the American Graffiti soundtrack later.
