In which yr hmbl svt attempts to bodge the terrible digital joystick which came with his ZX Spectrum back into workingness, with reasonably successful results.
I'm know that it's possible to get decent 1980s joysticks, but this is not one; although, to be honest, it's been so long that it's quite possible that it's now working as well as it ever did. If I was actually the kind of person who used joysticks I might have another go and either use the bigger, chunkier switches or try to retrofit real microswitches. I also eventually figured out that the horrible creaking noise is coming from the base of the T-bar flexing --- that spring mechanism I mention towards the end of the video.
