In a major administrative transition, Shiv Pratap Shukla arrived at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad today, March 10, 2026, to assume his new role as the Governor of Telangana. He was accorded a warm and formal welcome by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, marking the beginning of his tenure as the state's constitutional head. The appointment was recently announced by President Droupadi Murmu as part of a significant reshuffle of governors across several states. Shukla, a veteran BJP leader and former Union Minister of State for Finance, previously served as the Governor of Himachal Pradesh. He succeeds Jishnu Dev Varma, who has been transferred to serve as the Governor of Maharashtra.
