This is a candle. It claims 5% citronella oil/extract, and from the smell it puts out (when opened, and when burning) I believe it. I spent two hours outside in Florida at night using my telescope with this candle burning under the tripod, and I didn't get bit or hear any buzzing noises. [Normally I'd put on DEET for the same effect.] Maybe I just got lucky and there were no mosquitos out that night, but I typically would need bugspray to keep from getting bit, so I believe the candle did it's job.

I appreciate the fact that the paper wrapper is not glued to the candle, so you can slip it off and have a flat white can / candle without any markings other than the sticker on the lid (which you remove when in use).

They claim "up to" 28 hours of "burn time" and given the small amount of wax that was missing after I used it for 2 hours, I believe you can get at least 22-24 hours out of it, and maybe the full 28 hours (but I'm not going to bother testing that, as the oz weight was correct and you are getting the amount of paraffin wax you paid for....)
