What is Bryn Bach junior parkrun?
A free, fun, and friendly weekly 2k event for juniors (4 to 14 year olds). Nearby Saturday parkrun events can be found here.

When is it?
It is held every Sunday at 9:00am.

Where is it?
The event takes place at Bryn Bach country park, Merthyr Road, Tredegar, NP22 3AY. See Course page for more details.

What does it cost to join in?
Nothing - it's free! but please register before you first come along. Only ever register with parkrun once and don't forget to bring a scannable copy of your barcode (request a reminder). If you forget it, you won't get a time.

How fast do I have to be?
The aim is to have fun. Please come along and join in whatever your pace!

Course Description
Bryn Bach Junior parkrun is a single lap, out and back style 2km run set in Parc Bryn Bach, Tredegar.

The course is set entirely on the tarmac paths within the park.
Runners start outside the visitor centre and run anticlockwise for approximately 1 km, ( the lake is on their left). Runners then turn 180 degrees around a cone and head back the way they came. The finish is located outside the visitor centre.
Facilities
There is ample free car parking on site. The visitor centre located at the finish has toilets and showers as well as a great café. There is also a children’s play area.
Location of start
The run starts outside the visitor centre.
Getting there by public transport
Train: The two main train routes are Cardiff Central to Rhymney or Cardiff Central to Ebbw Vale. Bus: From Rhymney it is a short bus trip to Tredegar on the number 20 bus or from Ebbw Vale take the number E11 bus.
Getting there on foot
From Tredegar town to the park is approximately two miles. If coming by bike you can follow the cycle route 46 from Brynmawr or from Rhymney follow the 467 route.
Getting there by road
Parc Bryn Bach is situated just off the A465 Heads of the Valleys Road. Visitors should follow signs to Tredegar and once you're off the A465 follow the tourist signs to Parc Bryn Bach. For sat nav use, the postcode is NP22 3AY.
