STORYLINE:
Designer Robert Wun brought his style of gothic chic to couture week on Wednesday in Paris.

The London-based designer's collection revolved around the creator's valour and the inner struggle to create. Always with a flair for drama, this season was no different. Screens with darkened skies brought out characters that seemed to come from an Edgar Allan Poe story. Dramatically slow walks, long trains, mysterious oblong hats that hid their faces, extra long nails all played a part in the performance. Even the sunny screens in the background in the middle section didn't seem that sunny, more like a sad, ominous sign.

The dresses either had massive yet light crinolines, mermaid tails, long silhouettes or dapper long coats. Some looks evoked goth cowboy or Spanish conquistadors and some evoked a medieval feeling with swords or daggers appearing to pierce the model's chest. A red latex crinoline skirt was paired with a thick cotton structured jacket. Shoulders were de rigueur. The last look - a massive purple cosmos full of sparkling stars.
