Christopher Chope, the Conservative MP for Christchurch, objected to the House of Commons being used for a women's conference in the autumn. Last month Chope blocked the progress of a bill to outlaw upskirting. Chope later submitted an amendment to the motion, which showed his objection was to prevent delegates who were not parliamentarians potentially sitting in the Commons. The motion has been resubmitted for consideration on Tuesday
