Hot-headed and fearless rookie undercover cop Xiao Tian (Chen Xiao), is ordered to move in with the tough and independent Li Xin Yue (Jing Tian); he plays the role of slacker while shadowing her every move and eventually the duo stops fighting and starts falling in love. Lin Xin Yue is under the watchful eye of the police after she supposedly steals back her father's painting, Dear. They both end up traveling to the heroine's hometown Shangri-La City, where many dangers and fights ensue. Xiao Tian protects his target time and time again and gradually they fall for each other along the way.
