Disclaimer: this is not hate or meant to spark argument, just for fun. I like that the cosplay community as well as the crafting community as a whole advanced more in what’s possible when it comes to creativity such as with the 3d printer. But those things are EXPENSIVE and apparently the upkeep and materials needed for it are too, not to mention the work and time it takes. Sure, it’d be nice to have one and learn how to use it for cosplay props, but for now I’m comfortable with good old fashion cardboard, glue guns, and scrap materials to make the props I want. Nonetheless, don’t be discouraged if you don’t have advanced equipment either, everyone can cosplay at whatever stage or budget level they are, as long as it’s all in good fun in the end.
The only downside I do find about it is that it’s hard to find tutorials that don’t have a 3D printer or any other advanced equipment involved, than you REALLY gotta get creative in how to achieve roughly the same goal 😅
