This easy homemade biscotti recipe uses simple ingredients and delivers authentic Italian flavor in every bite.
This recipe is very forgiving and easy to make.
Let's get started.
Ingredients:
• 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
• 90 grams of unsalted butter
• 3/4 cup (170g) granulated sugar
• 2 tsp baking powder
• 2 large eggs
• 1 tsp vanilla extract or
• 1 tbsp Nutmeg(optional but amazing)
• 1 cup (170g) whole almonds (skin-on or blanched, your call)
• Pinch of salt
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Mix dry ingredients:
In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg.
3. In another bowl cream butter and sugar, add eggs & vanilla extract.
4. Add almonds:
Fold in whole almonds until evenly distributed.
Combined wet and dry ingredients
Do not overmix the batter.
5. Shape into logs:
Divide the dough in half and form two logs, about 2 inches wide and 10–12 inches long. Place on a baking sheet, spaced apart.
6. First bake:
Bake for 25–30 minutes, until golden and firm to the touch. Remove and let cool for 10–15 minutes.
7. Slice and second bake:
Slice logs diagonally into 3/4-inch thick cookies.
Lay them flat on the baking sheet and bake for another 10–15 minutes at 150 °C, flipping halfway, until crisp and golden.
8. Cool completely before storing in an airtight jar.
Serve with coffee, or tea.
