Описание: In this video we take the short ride up inside the funicular railway of the Montmartre in Paris. Unlike its rustic surroundings, this short funicular has a modern, futuristic design. It was installed between 1990 and 1991 and replaced an older system which itself had replaced the original funicular of the Montmartre from the year 1900. The system is manufactured by Schindler – known for their elevators and escalators. I guess this confirms a funicular being the child of a tram and an elevator ;) Design-wise though these cabins are connected to the TGV Atlantique as they were both designed by the French architect François Deslaugiers. If you wish to ride this funicular, don’t hesitate. It is far from the usual tourist rip-offs as it is regular public transport!
