Home catches fire in Springfield Township

Описание: SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKRC) - Crews battled a fire at a home in Springfield Township on Thursday night.

The home on Springdale Road between Hawkhurst Drive and Trapp Lane was engulfed in smoke and flames were visible.

According to the Colerain Township Fire Department, crews are mopping up hotspots and there have been no injuries.

Colerain Township FD also says that there is extensive damage throughout the structure and the cause is under investigation.

The homeowner is reportedly on scene.

"The fire crews initially conducted a transitional fire attack in the rear of the residence substantially darkening down the fire before entering the structure. The fire had extended itself from the first floor to the upstairs bedrooms and took approximately 20 minutes to bring it under control. After the fire was knocked down, it was discovered the home was actually within the boundaries of Springfield Township," said Springfield Township FD in a release." Fire and smoke damage was extensive throughout the house, and a preliminary estimate of the damage was placed at $ 50,000. While the family has been displaced, they will be staying with relatives who live in the area."
