In this video, I explain the steps I took in order to mod my Gameboy Color copy of Pokemon Yellow: Special Pikachu Edition. I did this in order to modify the game logic so I could add an additional Pokémon and some additional items. My goal was to make an alternative evolution route for Pikachu, so I could complete the whole game with only one Pokémon.

When I started this process, I knew nothing about ROM hacking - so this was my first venture into said territory. This short documentary explains everything I learned throughout the process, including mentions of great ROM hackers who produced software or tools that made the process easier and tools / tricks / difficulties I experienced along the way.
