In a united move, Hindu organisations immersed 28 idols together, with BJP and JD(S) leaders including B.Y. Vijayendra, R. Ashoka, Yaduveer Wodeyar, and Dr. Ashwath Narayan joining the event. Security was stepped up with over 500 police deployed along the sensitive route. So far, 22 arrests have been made in connection with the violence, while a BJP fact-finding committee is set to probe the incident.
