In this video, landholders along with Nillumbik Shire Council describe how Victoria's 2009 Black Saturday bushfires have had an impact on soil eroison. They provide advice to landholders on how to deal with erosion after the fire.

Logs, smaller branches, sticks and mulch can be used to reduce flow rates and protect soils in steep surfaces
Observe catchment behaviour and seek advice before undertaking engineering or earth moving works
Exclude stock from areas of unstable soil
Prioritise works to protect your most valuable assets first
