Описание: This is a rare piece of archival footage of Jiuhua Mountain filmed in the last century. The image shows the physical body of Master Wuxia. According to historical records, Master Wuxia lived a life of strict ascetic practice, surviving on wild fruits and spring water, and lived to the age of 126.
At the time of his passing, he was not buried. Instead, he sat in the lotus position inside a stone cave in the mountains and quietly entered final meditation. It was not until three full years later that people discovered his body by chance. There was no decay, no odor—the body remained almost exactly as it had been in life.
The monks of the mountain believed that he had attained an extraordinary spiritual state and therefore treated his remains with great reverence. Later, the imperial court officially posthumously honored him with the title “Manifestation Bodhisattva” and ordered that his body be gilded for veneration. Since then, this gilded body has been enshrined in the Flesh Body Hall of the Baishui Palace. More than 350 years have passed, yet despite being continuously exposed to the air, the body has remained remarkably well preserved.
