Paul George had a magnificent final season in Oklahoma City derailed by injuries down the stretch, but ultimately, it should be remembered as the season he finished THIRD in MVP voting. PG also set a few career highs across the board: 28.0 points per game (second in the league in scoring), 8.1 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 2.2 steals per game (which led the league). He also finished top 20 in Player Efficiency Rating (PER), in the top 10 in offensive win shares and box plus/minus, in the top 5 in defensive win shares, overall win shares, and the Value Over Replacement Player stats.

If you want to talk about a tantalizing talent, Paul George’s game is gorgeous. PG hasn’t always been known for his game off the dribble. In fact, once upon a time, it was viewed as one of his bigger weaknesses, but man, did he work on improving it. Now he’s got so much sauce, his moves are so shifty and so smooth. He glides and strides, and honestly sometimes reminds of Tracy McGrady, maybe a little bit of a bigger Kyrie (not necessarily as good, but it looks similar). He’s got range for days and puts the defense in a daze. What are you supposed to do?
Play up and it’s a blow by. Then he’s banging on your bigs with his bounce and BAD intentions.
Stay connected and he’s bodying you with his wiry frame and wily brain. Puts you in jail. Pulls up. And1.
Play back. He’ll stare you down as he splashes it down.
There’s no answer for the Paul George problem.
