What I wrote for D-League MVP Andrew Goudelock's playoff outburst against the Spurs could easily have been written in 2019, although I would have played up the Laker hate (and added more parentheticals) if I wrote it today.

I’m not going to sit here and pretend that the Lakers going up in flames doesn’t make me ridiculously happy. It does. But I also appreciate the fact that, with the Lakers’ injury list being longer than most of my descriptions, there are some scrubs on the Lakers that now get a chance to show their stuff.

Andrew Goudelock had a lot of stuff to show last night. He took 17 shots, and made eight of them. He scored twenty points in forty minutes. All of this in his third game as a Laker this season, and after only 40 games last year. When you’re the D-League MVP, you get it into your head that you’re the next Kobe. Which in this case, is kinda true, since Goudelock is the only shooting guard on the team who is fit to play.

“I hope nothing happens to his knees,” says DownToBuck as he experimentally swings his baseball bat through the air. “It would be a real shame for the Lakers to sustain another injury..."
