Описание: The term paranoid schizophrenia is quite an outdated term that was used in the past to describe a type of schizophrenia in which paranoia was a prominent symptom, but it also happens to be the case with a vast majority of sufferers with schizophrenia. Schizophrenia is a condition that severely affects a person's ability to think, feel and behave clearly. The condition is commonly marked by thought patterns that are completely out of touch with reality. The paranoia manifests itself in complete distrust of others and is often accompanied by hallucinations and delusions which lead to very strong convictions which are fundamentally removed from reality. This then manifests as anxiety and a complete inability to distinguish what's real from what's not. Sufferers of schizophrenia may therefore be under the constant false impression that they are being prosecuted or victimized by the people around them. In many cases, this paranoia starts to consume people leading to suicidal thoughts in some cases. Not all people who suffer from schizophrenia will also suffer from paranoia as a symptom, there are some estimates that suggest it can be anywhere up to 90% of cases. Coping mechanisms for those who suffer from paranoia include things like managing stress levels, maintaining a healthy diet, getting enough sleep, and exercising regularly. Schizophrenia cannot be cured but it can be treated and managed with a combination of prescription medication, psychotherapy and cognitive behavioural therapy.
