After completing her A-Levels, Maryam Akram decided to do an apprenticeship with The Royal Air Force rather than go to university.

Maryam is a finalist for this year's BAME Apprenticeship Awards in partnership with Pearson.

The BAME Apprenticeship Awards recognizes British BAME Apprentices, their employers and learning providers.

It aims to showcase outstanding BAME Apprentices.
Showcase outstanding Employers supporting diversity.
Create BAME Apprenticeship Leaders and Ambassadors.
Encourage more people to take up Apprenticeships.
Encourage employers to do more to recruit BAME Apprentices.
