So there I was, going through some of the old files I carried over from my old computer. And lo! There was a bunch of old music compilation files I had forgotten about. You can download the original CD cover I made in 2009 here, it's in MS Word 2000 .DOC format.

This was a collection of summer themed songs I downloaded from the Slay Radio Show web site, at the height of when I used to listen to it religiously. Certain songs were fun and quite excellent, so I decided to make a CD for my car - with all of the cooler tracks on this CD, and the more night clubby tracks on the Techno CD. So they come as a pair. Although you might not imagine this from the cover art I chose to use; which looks like a Scottish flag rather than a pop album cover.

I know, it starts off rather rave in style, but soon it mellows into more bushy anthems. Ah, those were the days, when all types of music, shapes and forms, still seemed current and fresh, and just for us. This is a time warp back to those days for me. A short of nostalgia.

Coming back to this project all these years later, I discovered I didnt have the original mix on my hard drive anymore. So I went back and tried to remaster it, by reinventing it from scratch. The music I resampled in much better quality, and everything seemed to sound great. It was only after rendering and uploading this, all 6GB of it, to Youtube, did I realise that I had forgotten to mix any of the tracks together. This seems like an obvious omission, but I honestly didnt thing about it. So just like most projects, this is left 95% completed. Yes I could spend another 3 days to render this, but the music still stands up for itself, with or without mixing them together. I think it still sounds great.

Recently I found my original CDs, so at least I still have a very low quality backup of these songs.
