Should you put carpet or vinyl in your clinical space?
This is a seriously frequently asked question. Many of us are used to working on carpet and enjoy the warm look and welcoming homey vibe it gives our patients. Many of us are concerned that, especially in today's world of increased focus on infection control, that carpet seems harder to keep clean and safe.
What many of us don't count on is how loud the clinic will be without carpet on the floor! Carpet is an excellent sound absorber, so if you are option to move to a luxury vinyl flooring consider what acoustical solutions will replace the carpet's absorption value!
There are so many up sides and down sides, I'm still seeing about 6-=70% Vinyl and 30-40% carpet in clinics I work with.
