Center of inversion
It is a point at the center of molecule in such a way that, if we draw a line from any one atom upto center of inversion and if we extend it to same extent we will meet other atom of the same element. If it is the arrangement for any part of the molecule then, there exists center of symmetry.
It s a point at the center of molecule. It may be in space or in an atom.

For element I only one unique operation is possible viz. i1 . But conventionally we represent it as ‘i’
Operation S21 is equivalent to i. Conventionally we represent i (means, we do not represent S2 element or related operations, as was a case for C1)
