In Part 2 of our series on emotional abuse, we are moving from the "Quiet" tactics to the Overt ones. Emotional abuse isn't always a whisper; sometimes it is a loud, aggressive display of power used to control the environment and keep you in survival mode.
Today, we are doing a deep-dive into the 5 pillars of obvious abuse:
Verbal Aggression: Using volume and mockery to trigger a "freeze" response.
Physical Intimidation: "Near-violence" like punching walls or blocking exits to ensure compliance.
Public Humiliation: Weaponizing shame to isolate you from your support system.
Character Assassination: Poisoning the well to ruin your credibility with others.
Stability Threats: Acting as a gatekeeper to your basic needs—like housing, transportation, or finances—to force you to earn their approval.
Recognizing these patterns is the first step toward reclaiming your reality and breaking the cycle.
