1. Chitkul
Known as the last inhabited village on the Indo-Tibetan border, Chitkul is a tranquil paradise nestled at an altitude of 11,320 feet in the Kinnaur district. Surrounded by the snow-clad Himalayan peaks and the pristine Baspa River, Chitkul offers an untouched, serene beauty. The wooden houses, lush meadows, and the sacred Mathi Devi Temple give the village its unique charm. It’s the perfect place for nature lovers seeking peace away from the bustling cities.

2. Sangla
Located in the enchanting Sangla Valley, this village is a hidden gem surrounded by the mighty Kinner Kailash ranges. Sangla is known for its lush green apple orchards, pine forests, and terraced farms. The Baspa River flows through the valley, adding to its scenic beauty. While here, I explored the local markets and interacted with the warm-hearted villagers. Sangla is also a hub for trekkers, offering trails that reveal the valley's hidden wonders.

3. Kalpa
Kalpa is a serene village perched at an altitude of 9,711 feet, offering spectacular views of the Kinner Kailash range. Famous for its apple orchards and traditional Himachali houses, this village exudes a peaceful charm. The Kinner Kailash Shivling, a sacred rock formation on the mountain, is a highlight visible from Kalpa. I also visited the local Buddhist monastery and temple, experiencing the harmonious blend of Hindu and Buddhist cultures in the region.

4. Rogi
Rogi is a quaint village just a few kilometers from Kalpa, known for its dramatic location along cliff-hanging roads and stunning views of the Satluj River below. This village is an offbeat destination where time seems to stand still. The traditional wooden houses and the Rogi suicide point are popular attractions. It’s a must-visit for anyone seeking breathtaking views and a bit of adrenaline.

5. Nako
At an altitude of 12,014 feet, Nako is a picturesque village that serves as the gateway to Spiti Valley. It is best known for the serene Nako Lake, surrounded by willow and poplar trees, creating a picture-perfect landscape.
