The Greenville City Fire Department hosted a grand opening of the new station, which officially opened for service on February 13, to give members of the community an opportunity to visit the station and meet fire department personnel. The new station is fully staffed with nine firefighters per shift (27 total) and is equipped with one fire engine and one rescue truck. The station also houses a Greenville Police Department substation.
The grand opening featured a short program, including a ceremonial opening of the station, and afterward, attendees were invited to stay for refreshments and tour the station.
