A return to Colorado for some off-roading fun was the destination for the 4th trip of the 2024 season. Jeremy - YouTube channel ‪@All_Things_Out_Doors‬invited me to join him for a sequel overlanding adventure to our 2022 Colorado trip in his highly-capable Ford Bronco. I thought we had done all the off-roading one could do in Colorado on that trip, but that was certainly not the case. In 2022 we hit most of the 'signature' trails in Colorado - on this trip we did the rest! The highlights included Red Cone Peak, Tincup Pass, Cinnamon Pass, Stony Pass, Clear Lake, and a redemption visit to 'The Wall' on Poughkeepsie Gulch.

This video again turned out to be a collaboration with Jeremy, and I want to thank him for allowing me to use many of the video clips he created with his DJI Mini-2 drone. It's not easy to capture video while overlanding, especially when you're driving, and our videos wouldn't have been possible for either Jeremy or I without sharing our clips. The trip ended up being 7-days/6-nights, and we spent about 30 hours in the Bronco on offroad trails all over Colorado, from the Buena Vista area to Silverton. Even though the physical exertion isn't nearly as extreme as a backpacking trip in the mountains, off-roading is surprisingly exhausting. We were both pretty spent by the time we found our way back to camp each night.

Unlike our 2022 trip, where rain was our companion the majority of the time, the weather on this trip was nearly perfect. After a rain and hail storm our first night of camping, every day was blue skies and sunshine.

For those who have watched my other videos this one is done in the same style - a bit over an hour in length, intended to bring the audience along for the 'ride', and with a still picture slide show with music at the end. If you just have a few minutes skip to the end and enjoy the pictures.
