देश के करीब 50 लाख केंद्रीय कर्मचारी और लगभग 69 लाख पेंशनभोगी इन दिनों 8वें वेतन आयोग को लेकर बड़ी उम्मीदें लगाए बैठे हैं। सबसे ज्यादा चर्चा जिस एक फैक्टर को लेकर हो रही है, वह है फिटमेंट फैक्टर, क्योंकि इसी के आधार पर तय होगा कि कर्मचारियों की बेसिक सैलरी में कितना बड़ा बदलाव देखने को मिलेगा। जैसे-जैसे इस पर बहस तेज हो रही है, वैसे-वैसे इसका असर सिर्फ सैलरी तक सीमित नहीं रहकर सरकार के खजाने और पेंशन सिस्टम तक पहुंचता दिख रहा है।
