Will Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents be present at polling locations during this year's midterm elections?
That's the question PBS News White House correspondent Liz Landers asked White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt during Thursday's news briefing. Earlier in the week, former Trump White House adviser Steve Bannon said on his podcast that "we’re going to have ICE surround the polls come November."
"That's not something I've ever heard the president consider," Leavitt said. "No."
Landers followed up asking if she could guarantee that ICE will not be around polling locations or voting locations in November.
"I can't guarantee that an ICE agent won't be around a polling location in November. I mean, that's frankly a very silly hypothetical question," Leavitt said. "But what I can tell you is I haven't heard the president discuss any formal plans to put ICE outside of polling locations."
Leavitt later called the question "disingenuous."
