Freyja is a Norse goddess of love, beauty, war, and magic. She rules over Fólkvangr, her heavenly field where half of the warriors slain in battle are chosen to dwell, while the other half go to Odin’s Valhalla. Freyja is also the mistress of seiðr, an ancient form of Norse magic tied to fate, prophecy, and the shaping of destiny. Through love and loss, desire and death, Freyja embodies both passion and power in the Norse cosmos.
Fólkvangr means “the field of the host,” Freyja’s realm of the fallen.
Seiðr refers to a ritual magic associated with foresight, transformation, and the weaving of fate.
