Описание: Sir Patrick Vallance, Government Chief Scientific Adviser, is questioned by early career representatives at Voice of the Future 2021.

Patrick is questioned on how the government can prevent misinformation of scientific ideas, what could the government be doing to encourage and facilitate scientists to move into policy making and politics, and what new approaches can be and are being taken to address the prevention of disease and the promotion of health from an early age.

The event was held on Zoom on the 10 March, 2021.

The session was chaired by Masrur Ahmed, second clerk of the House of Commons Science and Technology Select Committee.

Voice of the Future offers young scientists and engineers the chance to put their burning science policy questions to key political figures, through a unique opportunity in Westminster. Organised by the Royal Society of Biology on behalf of the science and engineering community, the annual event reverses the format of a Parliamentary Select Committee, giving a panel of early career scientists the opportunity to question senior figures from Parliament and Government on issues that matter to them.
