From down the road of Sacramento, CA, I attended the 2024 version of the California Capital Air Show. Yup! I traveled all the way across the nation from New Jersey just to see an Air Show and it was worth it for sure!
Check out this Awesome parade flight of Warbirds from the World War II era. Got a P-51D, P-40 Warhawk, a Sea Fury followed by a solo aerobatic flight, a P-51A Mustang (not a D) also performing an aerobatic flight, and I couldn’t believe what I was witnessing. Two ship P-38 Lightning. Wow!! Although this was my first time seeing an Air Show in California and I’m not all that familiar with the organizations that keep these Warbirds flying as I’m from the East Coast and see mainly East Coast Air Show’s. But I believe some of the Warbirds, including the P-38’s, were courtesy of the Planes of Fame Museum in California. The show also included a missing man formation in dedication to a World War II veteran and a triple ace, Bud Anderson, who recently passed away.
