Create colourful Easter fizz fun while exploring the basics of science!

Fill Easter-themed dough cutters with bi-carb soda, add a sprinkle of vibrant craft dye, and squirt vinegar to trigger a chemical reaction. As the reaction unfolds, children can explore the colourful swirls, the bubbly sounds, and the fizzy texture of the materials.

This hands-on experience combines science with sensory play, allowing students to engage their senses while discovering basic chemical reactions. Perfect for a creative and educational Easter activity!

Let’s get started!

You’ll need:

Easter Dough & Clay Cutters (CS6561)
Clear Tray – A3 (KD973) OR A2 (KD972)
Vegetable Powder Dyes (FN1166) or Food Colouring
Squeeze Bottles (SA1000)
Plastic Syringes (EIS0356E)
Paint Bellows (RE5419)
Measuring Spoons (TFC10397)
Bowl/Container x 2
Bi-Carbonate of Soda
White Vinegar

Let’s make it!

✅ Place the Easter dough cutters into the clear tray.

✅ Spoon a little bi-carb soda into each Easter shape.

✅ Spoon a small amount of Vegetable Dye Colours onto the bi-carb soda (a little goes a long way!)

✅ Fill the dough cutter with bi-carb soda to cover the vegetable dye.

✅Use plastic syringes, paint bellows and squeeze bottles to squirt vinegar onto the bi-carb soda to see the fizzy chemical reaction. Keep adding bi-carb soda and vinegar to keep the fizz going.

Enjoy the chemical reaction!

*TOP TIP – When the experiment is finished, use the colourful baking soda and vinegar liquid to make vibrant fizzy potions in the mud kitchen!
