LONDON BUS CHANGES | BZLs Now On Routes 187, 316 and 487! (NEW ELECTRIC BUSES) Bus Changes Explained

Описание: New Volvo BZLs have entered service on routes 187, 487 and 316. All three routes run from Willesden Junction (WJ) garage. 10.4m BZLs, coded as VMSs, are allocated to the 187 and 487. These two routes have fully converted to electrics.

Route 316 is allocated 10.9m BZLs, coded as VMSLs (more on this later).

BZLs are replacing diesel ADL Enviro200 from 2008 and 2009, And diesel ADL Enviro200 MMCs from 2016. Some of the E200 MMCs have now transferred back to Brentford (AH) garage. They are now being used on route 190.

Route 187 runs from Finchley Road O2 Centre, To Park Royal, Central Middlesex Hospital. The route runs via Finchley Road Station, Swiss Cottage Station, St John's Wood Station, Maida Vale, Warwick Avenue Station, Elgin Avenue, Queen's Park Station, Kensal Rise Station, Willesden County Court, Harlesden Station and Park Royal Asda.

Route 187 runs around every 13 to 18 minutes. The route runs daily, from 4:40 AM until 1:30 AM. Route 187 is 8 miles (12 km) long. A full journey on the route takes 42 to 80 minutes.

Route 187's frequency was decreased on the 7th of January 2023. The route once ran every 13 minutes on Mondays to Saturdays. This change reduced the peak vehicle requirement from 12 to 10.

The first BZLs on route 187 entered service in November 2024. Route 187 commenced operating in November 1940. The route originally ran between South Harrow and Hammersmith. Route 187 has used Enviro200s since 2009, When the route was retained by First London.

Route 487 runs from South Harrow Bus Station, To Willesden Junction Station. The route runs via South Harrow Station, Northolt Park Station, Sudbury Town Station, Alperton Station, Glacier Way, Hanger Lane Station, Park Royal Station, Gypsy Corner, Park Royal Asda, Central Middlesex Hospital, Barretts Green Road, Harlesden Station, Willesden County Court and Harlesden Jubilee Clock.

Route 487 runs every 12 to 20 minutes. The route runs daily, from 5:10 AM until 1:20 AM. Route 487 is 9 miles (14 km) long. A full journey on the route takes 35 to 65 minutes.

The first BZL on route 487 entered service in March 2024. Until recently, only 2 BZLs did the route every day. Route 487 commenced operation in September 1999. The route originally ran via Minerva Road in Park Royal. Route 487 has used Enviro200s since 2009.

Route 316 runs from Brent Cross West Station, To White City Bus Station. The route runs via Cricklewood Bus Garage, Cricklewood Lane, Cricklewood Broadway, Kilburn Station, Brondesbury Station, Kilburn High Road Station, Kilburn Park Station, Queen's Park Station, Harrow Road, Ladbroke Grove Sainsbury's, St Charles Health & Wellbeing Centre, Cambridge Gardens, Latimer Road Station, Royal Crescent and Shepherd's Bush Station.

Route 316 runs every 6 to 20 minutes. The route runs daily, from 5:00 AM until 3:00 AM. The 316 is 7 miles (11 km) long. A full journey on the route takes 45 to 60 minutes.

Route 316 is operated by Metroline. The route runs from Willesden Junction (WJ) garage. The 316 has a peak vehicle requirement of 18 single decker buses.

These buses feature Metroline's high spec interior. Unlike Metroline's GB Kites, these do not have wood effect flooring. USB chargers are located throughout the bus. Two digital iBus screens display real time information. There are also two sets of priority seats.

Many Enviro200s used on routes 187, 316 and 487 have now been withdrawn. These buses are from 2008 and 2009.

On the days of the Notting Hill Carnival, route 316 uses a full allocation of double deckers. The route is also cut short at these times, terminating at Harrow Road, Elgin Avenue.

Until December 2023, route 316 terminated at Cricklewood Bus Garage. The route was extended to serve Brent Cross West station on its opening day.
