This is how I fixed the intermittent charging on my 2007 Honda Accord. I don't believe this is exclusive to Honda, so if you're having similar issues check your ignition wire to the alternator. This is not meant to be a permanent fix, complete at your own risk.
My symptoms were that the first start of the day would always be charging, then after that it would stop. When it was charging, it held a consistent 14V+.
