I took a cab into town around 10:45pm on the eve of Chinese New Year 2026 to experience the atmosphere… and honestly, I wasn’t expecting this many people outside before midnight.
Families, couples, friends, children, and elders were already gathered — smiling, laughing, and enjoying the night together. The energy in the city was incredible even before the New Year officially began on February 16th.
From the busy streets filled with excitement to the peaceful waterfront views and fireworks lighting up the sky, this was a beautiful reminder that celebrations bring people together everywhere in the world.
