These are the same tips I make sure my advanced students are covering –
Truly, simple does it, forever!
1. Sit comfortably
2. Do nothing, don’t try and get anything
No trying, straining or controlling
3. Simply watch
4. Think the Ascension Attitude or your mantra and notice that, or notice your breath
5. Repeat, patiently
Patiently drop it in again when it’s gone, it’s not longer there and you’re distracted
6. Just come back
Repeat til you’re done. Don’t evaluate, judge, comment, or compare.
Just come back.
Don’t worry about being distracted,
Don’t worry about not being focussed,
Don’t worry about falling asleep,
Just come back.
Keep it this simple. As long as you have a worthy meditation vehicle, you’ll be golden forever. If your practice isn’t rewarding or satisfying or easy, you’ve forgotten to make it simple.
Just come back to simplicity, and …
