This is Ina Gartens recipe I have been using for years now. I have tweaked it ever so slightly.
CAKE BATTER:
1 stick room temp butter or margarine
3/4 cup granulated sugar
2 extra-large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon grated lemon zest
2/3 cup sour cream
1 1/4 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1 cup fresh blueberries
Cream the butter and sugar together for 4 minutes with an electric mixer.
Add in eggs one at a time. Beat in the sour cream and vanilla extract.
In a bowl combine the dry ingredients together and add into the wet ingredients slowly. Mix with the electric mixer until everything is just combined.
Fold in the blueberries with a rubber spatula.
CRUMB TOPPING:
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup light brown sugar, lightly packed
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 stick melted butter
1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
Stir all dry ingredients together and then drizzle in the melted butter. Mix with a fork to create the chunky crumble.
Preheat oven to 350 and grease a 9 inch spring form pan.
Pour in cake batter and top with crumble.
Bake for 40-50 minutes.
