The 2026 GAC Hyptec A800 is a full-size flagship luxury sedan jointly developed by GAC Group and Huawei, combining extended-range electric performance with next-generation intelligent driving systems. It adopts an Extended-Range Electric Vehicle (EREV) layout, where a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine producing 158 hp (118 kW) operates purely as a generator to supply energy to the battery rather than directly powering the wheels. Propulsion comes from a high-output electric motor rated at approximately 340 hp (250 kW), while some versions are expected to feature multi-motor all-wheel drive setups for even stronger performance. The sedan uses a 35.03 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack, delivering up to 178 km of pure electric driving range under WLTC testing and a combined range exceeding 1,200 km. Top speed is rated at 185 km/h, and fuel consumption in charge-sustaining mode is around 5.74 L/100 km, balancing efficiency with long-distance capability.

In terms of exterior presence, the A800 stands out with its sleek fastback silhouette and highly aerodynamic bodywork. Measuring 5,130 mm in length, 1,966 mm in width, and 1,500 mm in height, with a generous 3,020 mm wheelbase, it firmly positions itself in the full-size executive sedan segment. Its drag coefficient ranges between 0.21 and 0.275 Cd depending on configuration, contributing to improved efficiency and high-speed stability. One of its most distinctive elements is the 6,068 mm continuous light strip, claimed to be the longest fitted to a production passenger vehicle, complemented by Huawei’s million-pixel intelligent projection headlights. Additional premium touches include flush door handles, an integrated ducktail rear spoiler, and a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor that supports its advanced driver-assistance systems.

Inside, the cabin integrates Huawei’s HarmonySpace 5 ecosystem and supports Level 3 autonomous driving capability. The dashboard features a 15.6-inch central infotainment display, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and a massive 27-inch augmented reality head-up display for immersive driving data projection. Powered by a Qualcomm flagship chipset, the smart cockpit responds in just 0.3 seconds and is enhanced by 6,536 mm of customizable ambient lighting. Seating comfort is elevated through a flexible “2+1” rear seating configuration that can be electronically adjusted, while the front seats provide 8-way power adjustment along with heating, ventilation, and massage functions. A 14-speaker Infinity premium audio system with active noise cancellation further enhances refinement, and the Huawei Qiankun ADS 4.0 Ultra system utilizes 34 sensors—including solid-state LiDAR and 4D millimetre-wave radar—to deliver cutting-edge autonomous driving performance.
