It’s getting tricky to catch SEA TROUT with these fishing conditions!

Fishing for sea trout on the Swedish west coast north of Gothenburg has become noticeably trickier compared to early April. Back then, the trout would often strike at almost anything you threw out. Now, with the wind coming in from the northeast, probably combined with the water having warmed up a bit and many fish already being caught, the trout seem significantly more cautious and selective. The once-reliable spots now require much more patience, and every catch truly feels well-earned.
I noticed that my usual go-to lure Savage Gear Seeker ISP in green-silver color wasn’t getting the same attention as before. I started experimenting more, switching to Westin F360° with flashier colors, taken that the water was still rather cold and the sky clouded.
Finally, I got a fish, though on a teaser fly – a pink shrimp. Probably the lure did its job attracting the fish, no one knows. It’s clear that adapting to the conditions and testing different baits is important for sea trout fishing.
My gear:
Rod Savage Gear Parabellum CCS 9'2" 10–30 g.
Reel Savage Gear SG2 4000FD.
Baits:
Savage Gear Seeker ISP 16g, 23g NL 01-Green Silver
Westin F360° 16g Dull Sunrise 7,5cm.
Nice TiED Shrimp Pink # 4
