Lakeview Trail - The Lakeview Trail is an out and back trail that runs South to North. From the Trailhead you will have to take part of the Hanging Rock Trail to get to it. The Lakeview Trail is outlined in blue on the map. It is also a fast flowing trail and a blast to ride!
Wayne National Forest - Hanging Rock OHV System
In this series of videos I am riding with Zachary Stewart, Travis Grimm, Gavin Howard and Greg Howard. We had a bike malfunction and had to switch out so everyone could ride, so Greg and I switched out, which is why he is not in any of the videos.
The Hanging Rock area of the Wayne National Forest boasts 26 miles of off road riding and is available for off-highway vehicles (side x sides 50” or less in width, four wheelers & dirt bikes), mountain biking & hiking. This area is also known for its fishing ponds. 51 ponds are scattered along the trail system. A trail map is available at the parks website, fs.usda.gov
The riding season is open between April 15th & December 15th. A trail permit is required to ride as well as an APV Registration. Helmets and eye-wear are required to ride.
The trails are a nice mix of terrain with various elevation changes and has something for all skill levels. The trails are well maintained for the most part with some over growth on the trails sometimes. I have always enjoyed my rides there.
When you go be sure to lock you vehicles and do not leave any valuables in the open. There are people that are passing through the area looking to take what is not theirs. The local law enforcement patrols the area but cannot be everywhere at all times.
